Halal Fun Ride 2015 - 22 August 2015

Halal Fun Ride 2015 telah berlangsung di perkarangan Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin di Putrajaya. Kayuhan santai ini dianjurkan oleh Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (Jakim) dan telah menarik minat seramai lebih kurang 3000 orang peserta. Kayuhan sejauh 30km mengeliling Putrajaya dan telah dilepaskan pada pukul 8.30 pagi oleh YB Senator Dato' Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dato' Dusuki. Ucapan perasmian dan pelancaran "Kempen Yakini Halal Malaysia" telah dilakukan serentak bersama dengan flag off "Halal Fun Ride".

TaipingRV hanya menghantar 2 orang wakil untuk ride kali ini.

Batu Kurau International Mountain Bike Challenge

Mountain Bike Enthusiasts To Compete In Batu Kurau International Mountain Bike Challenge

IPOH, July 29 (Bernama) -- About 1,500 mountain bike enthusiasts representing 50 local and foreign teams are expected to compete in the Batu Kurau International Mountain Bike Challenge 2.0 on Sept 19 and 20.

Among foreign teams participating in the challenge are from Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines said Batu Kurau state assemblyman Datuk Dr Muhammad Amin Zakaria.

Muhammad Amin said riders taking part in an endurance sport like mountain bike need to be strong physically and mentally because it involves tough treacherous terrains over a distance of 45km through the eight categories contested in the Cross Country Marathon (XCM) and Cross Country Olympic (XCO).

"This year the XCO race will be held at the Kampung Anak Kurau track and the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kampung Perak field will be the venue for the start of the race. The area is rich in flora and fauna," he told reporters at the pre-launch of the race by Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, Wednesday.

Muhammad Amin who is also Perak state Education, Science, Environment and Green Technology Committee chairman, said another international event - The Batu Kurau International Trail Run Challenge 2015 - will take place on Oct 11.

The race is jointly organised by the Batu Kurau state assemblyman's Community Centre and Alam Event Sdn Bhd.

Cycle: Save a Child’s Heart 2.0 Ipoh

IPOH: 2/8/2015 A beautiful Sunday morning today was made brighter when the Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah and his consort Raja Permaisuri of Perak Tuanku Zara Salim joined more than 1,500 cycling enthusiasts in the Maybank Islamic Berhad’s cycle event here. The “Cycle: Save a Child’s Heart 2.0” programme was held to help raise funds to sponsor paediatric heart patients from Malaysia and across Asean. The fundraising initiative is part of Maybank Islamic’s five-year collaboration with the National Heart Institute (NHI) since 2012, and has raised a total of RM100,000. It was the second one to be organised by the bank after the success of the inaugural programme in Putrajaya last year, where RM50,000 was raised. Other participants included Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, Maybank Islamic chairman Datuk Seri Ismail Shahudin, Maybank Islamic chief executive officer Datuk Muzaffar Hisham and NHI CEO Datuk Dr Azhari Yakub.
